Sustainable Agriculture Research & Education (SARE)

Competitive grants awarded to farmers to test, collect data and otherwise research innovative ideas, then share with other producers. Contact the SARE office for application and deadline to apply. Vermont Community Loan Fund (VCLF)

Vermont Economic Development Authority (VEDA)

58 East State St., Suite 5, Montpelier, VT, 05602, (802) 828-5627, www.veda.org.  Created by statute in 1974, promotes operation of a variety of financing programs including; direct loans, industrial revenue bonds and the issuance of mortgage loan insurance.

Vermont Farm Fund

Zero interest Emergency Loans of up to $10,000 help farmers get back on their feet quickly after a devastating loss due to an unexpected natural disaster that puts their farm or farming career in danger. Business Builder Loans (up to $30,000) allow farms and food producers to invest and innovate for growth, increasing the availability of local foods in Vermont.
