The Vermont Sheep and Goat Association is pleased to announce our 2016/2017 Handspinning Challenge! This year, spinners will be asked to produce a worsted-weight, 800 yd/lb, 2-ply yarn from GORGEOUS Hurricane Ridge Farm natural-colored Romney wool. As before, the $10 entry kits will be available for purchase directly from VSGA at our vendor booth at the VT Sheep and Wool Festival held October 1-2, 2016 at the Tunbridge Fairgrounds in Tunbridge, VT. Once again, 50% of the entry fees will be awarded as prize money to the top three skeins and the remaining fees will support VSGA. A maximum of 100 kits will be available, so don’t miss out!

If you are unable to attend the VT Sheep and Wool Festival, VSGA will be offering the remaining kits on a first-come, first-served basis via mail-order for $14. Contact Michael Hampton at mhampton@gmavt.net to have a kit mailed to you.

Skeins will be displayed and winners announced at the Vermont Farm Show held at Champlain Valley EXPO in Essex Junction, VT on January 31 and February 1-2, 2017. See complete contest rules here.
